As Guardian Automotive continues to go from strength to strength, I am delighted to let you know about our latest investment in the company’s technological capabilities. As part of our ongoing commitment to manufacturing and delivering the highest quality to customers all around the world, we have just purchased a top-of-the-range and efficient new furnace. It will be fully installed in our Llodio ‘centre of excellence’ in Spain by October, 2022.
At a cost of €8m, this is a major investment, but one we see as key to solidifying Guardian Automotive’s status as the go-to partner for autoglass solutions. In fact, it follows a recent investment of €5m, which saw us upgrade our lamination machinery and expand our laboratory, to include a range of cutting-edge new features.
In line with our business strategy, we regard this state-of-the art furnace as an investment in the future. Its capabilities will significantly grow our offering and manufacture both laminated and tempered glass in Llodio. Its capacity of 800,000 glass sheet pieces will allow us to fulfil a whole range of orders for our customers in the OE and Aftermarket. This increase in scale and variety of produce will further raise international awareness of our solid reputation when it comes to quality.
At the same time, our Research teams continue to monitor the industry’s latest trends and technologies, using their findings to help innovate how we produce autoglass. By consistently exploring, questioning and collaborating in this way, we have established ourselves as a key player in the automotive revolution.
