After extensive consultation with our customers, we are reducing the amount of packaging we use for our
windscreens. Starting this month, we will no longer use plastic bags to cover each windscreen.
In addition to the immediate benefits, saving material costs and reducing the need to recycle,
this step also delivers additional customer benefits. For a start, you will find it easier to open the crates
because the lateral wood supports no longer catch the bags. Once you have opened a crate, you will find it
easier to count the windshields, check the labels for faster picking, and, warehouse operators no longer have to
remove the bags – making handling faster, too.
Still well-protected
Overall the packaging has a neater appearance, without diminishing overall product protection –
as each windscreen has its own corner supports to avoid scratches and each crate still has a bag to cover its
content.
Luisa Marchina, Sales & Marketing Manager, says: “The use of plastic bags is not only very
expensive, it is also bad for the environment as it generates additional waste that needs to be recycled.
Together we can make a real difference in terms of long-term sustainability. Overall efficiency goes up as waste
of resources goes down. It’s a win-win situation.”
Sergio Mugica, Quality Manager adds: “Over the next few months, some orders may contain a mix
of crates with and without plastic bags, as we clear our warehouse stock.”
